SPARKS Ignite imagination evolved out of a desire to inject creativity into our standardized world. It began as a birthday gift for my niece. I gave her a sketchbook in which I had added a little something, a doodle, a word, to spark her imagination. Her sisters saw it and they wanted one too.
In creating SPARKS Ignite imagination I wanted to show people how to develop creative thinking skills
Develop curiosity and imagination in the people you love.
Everyone can benefit from a little whimsey, a lot of playfullness, and a good serving of imagination in a no judgement environment.
Types of Intelligence
Howard Gardner proposed that there were more ways to be "smart" than were tested in IQ tests. He suggested that there were "multiple intelligences" and named eight of them:
Linguistic -good at thinking, speaking, and writing with words.
Logical-Mathematical -using logic, abstractions, reasoning, and critical thinking to solve problems.
Also good at math.
Visual-Spatial -seeing and manipulating patterns in three dimensional space
Musical -good at singing, playing instruments, and composing music.
Bodily-Kinesthetic -using the body with coordination, balance, dexterity, strength, and flexibility.
Interpersonal -sensing, understanding, and effectively the interacting with others.
Intrapersonal -understanding yourself, what you feel and what you want.
Naturalistic -recognizing and categorizing, patterns in nature.
Since Gardner, we have discovered more "intelligences."
Use you unique smarts or play with your weaknesses.

What is a SPARK? SPARKS are small ideas designed to ignite big ideas. They are hints, nudges, flashes of inspiration that you can use to create your own poem, drawing, collage, song, essay, sculpture, novel, invention, your own unique creation.
Great ideas don't just sprout complete from the minds of genius. They grow slowly through experiences and study, through series of successes and failures gathered and fermented in a curious mind.
Learn the techniques used by the great minds of history. Practice them in a sketchbook. Then, when you are ready, create your masteriece on one of the SPARKS tear out pages printed on only one side so you can keep it.
In schools we value Linguistic and Logical-Mathematical intelligence. Those who have other interests and strengths must find success elsewhere. This is what makes the arts so important in school. Support music and art education for those who have been left behind.
